Travel Policy

Due to the travel-oriented nature of many Usonian jobs, weather, or other Force Majeure Events occasionally force plans to change. If Force Majeure events cause delays and consequently postpones the expected time of arrival for a job, Usonian technicians will arrive as soon as practical. Usonian technicians will attempt to complete the job in the allotted amount of time. However, the technicians on-site have the ultimate discretion to choose to extend the project timeline in order to complete the job safely and to Usonian standards.

Delays and Extending Project Timeline

In a situation where a delayed arrival causes a postponed departure, Usonian will attempt to re-book travel and accommodations as necessary to complete the job. In this situation:

  • Usonian techs will re-book flights and hotels at their discretion;

  • All refunds associated with the re-booking or cancellation of travel will be returned to the Client;

  • If the re-booking results in an increase in overall travel cost charged to the Client, Usonian will cover half of these additional charges, up to $500.

Inability to Complete Job on First Visit

In rare situations Force Majeure delays may make completion of the job in accordance with the expected timeline impractical. In these situations, booking a second visit will be necessary.

If a job needs to be a second visit due to a Force Majeure event:

  • Usonian will schedule this visit at next practical availability;

  • Any refunds from travel cancellations that Usonian receives will be returned to the Client;

  • Usonian will cover half of newly incurred travel costs, up to $500

  • Additional days of labor will be billed to the Client at half of our standard rate.

Job Cancellation due to Force Majeure Events

In extreme situations delays may require the job to be canceled. In these situations, the trip will need to be re-booked.

If a job needs to be re-booked,

  • Usonian will schedule this visit at next availability;

  • Any refunds from travel cancellations that Usonian receives will be returned to the Client;

  • Usonian will cover half of newly incurred travel costs, up to $500

  • Additional days of labor will be billed to the Client at half of our standard rate.

Additional Information

When booking travel and scheduling jobs, Usonian makes decisions with the Client’s interest in mind. Usonian technicians look for affordable accommodations and reasonably priced flights. Additionally, Usonian will schedule second visits or canceled jobs as soon as is practical. Ultimately, however, technicians use their discretion when completing these tasks. These decisions are final.

Usonian cannot be held liable for losses or other inconveniences the Client may face as a result of jobs that are canceled, postponed, delayed, or re-booked due to Force Majeure Events, or other circumstances outside Usonian’s control.
